After having a blast with Charlotte's 1st Birthday Giveaway Gala, I have decided that Amber would be left out if I didn't do something on What Mommy Wants for her! Amber is turning 12 on April 24th! This event is in honor of her! It will be called the Precocious Preteen Giveaway Hop!

UPDATE: CONFIRMED SPONSORS

I will be gathering sponsors for a GRAND PRIZE package hosted right here! I am also considering a co-host. If this interests you please fill out this form before March 9th. In addition I will host a linky for you guys to join this hop too! While the grand prize sponsors are still in the works I will announce them as they confirm. The goal of the prize package is to have a dozen sponsors for a dozen years! So... The package will be amazing! Participating blogs will be allowed to enter!
This event is FREE too join! I'm not going to charge any admin fees. I want to have fun, win some prizes, meet new bloggers and celebrate a dozen years as a mommy! I have only a few guidelines:

~Post the button on your side bar linking to this post. (when the event begins you can change it to link to your giveaway)

~Include the linky and button in your giveaway post.

~I will send out sample text for your post. You may tweak it so we aren't all guilty of Google's taboo "duplicate content" However, it is required to link to the Grand Prize on your hostesses blog!

Cloth Wipes Transition Update!

It has been a while since announcing my switch to cloth wipes so I wanted to share some quick updates! We have not yet completely switched. While I have been using only cloth wipes (except a few times that I forgot to make the solution) I am still trying to get the family to join these efforts. It isn't easy asking everyone (hubby and an 11 year old) to wipe poop off of a butt with something that we will use again! It sounds gross! I understand completely. Amber (the 11 year old) was right on board with the cloth diapers. I think that was because they are cuter than disposables. But I think asking her to not just throw away a piece of cloth covered in poop is just asking too much. Pee diapers are not a problem. In fact, Amber enjoys making the new wipe solution. Hubby sometimes will use a cloth wipe on a pee diaper if I leave him no other option ;) I know I am trying harder and that is important to me!
I wanted to share a quick photo of our changing area with you. Since taking this photo things have changed just a bit. The wipe container that I keep my CLOTH wipes in was thrown away. I'm sure he didn't notice that I have been keeping my wipes in there. Even though that box has been there since Charlotte was born. Men don't always notice little things like that so I will forgive him. We bought a new box wipes... that is empty now and contains my cloth wipes. Same set-up just a different box:

A closer view of the wipes area:

The other thing that has changed is... I bought wipe bits to make a real solution. If you read my first post about or switch to cloth wipes, you might remember that I mentioned I made my own with just water and Tea Tree Oil and didn't care for it. I have been following a shop on Facebook for some time who makes them (along with many other soaps, cleaners, castile, etc.) She posted a deal for her wipe bits and I went for it! 2 for $10. I got a bag of wipe bits (50 in a bag) and a bag of cleaning solution bits. I love them both and I am thinking about a possible review. Perhaps I will ask her about a giveaway... Anyway, the wipe bit are tangerine scented and I love them! They did take a bit of time to dissolve but I didn't mind.  As long as I remember to refill before the next change :)
What I have learned so far:
Shake the wipe solution while it dissolves. One time I let it sit while it dissolved and it settled on the bottom of the bottle, then when the water cooled it semi-solidified... Shaking as it dissolved solved this!
Be patient with my family and eventually they will come around.
If I keep clean wipes in the container it is less likely to get thrown away.
If I keep clean wipes in the container they are more likely to get used while I am away.
Using a disposable is not the end of the world! It gets the job done, next time I will remember to have solution ready!

Thanks for reading! If you have any questions or advice please leave me a comment! I would love to read your thoughts ;)

A New Friend With Buying Power, Zuuzs!

What is Zuuzs and how you can earn money by sharing deals with friends!

I have been a member of Zuuzs for a little while and some people have asked me "What exactly is Zuuzs?" I thought I could take some time to let you know what Zuuzs is and how you can earn money shopping through Zuuzs. They have also added something new called Buying Power which helps you earn even more!

What is Zuuzs?
Zuuzs is a shopping site which allows you to shop at stores you already shop at online BUT you earn cash back AND discounts when you go through Zuuzs! Zuuzs is absolutely free to join!

How do I earn money on Zuuzs?
All you have to do is go to the Zuuzs site and click on the store you wish to shop at. As long as you started at the Zuuzs site you are already linked up for your cashback! Want to earn more? Invite friends and family! When you invite other people into your "circle" you earn when they shop! An added bonus: when your friends invite friends you earn from them as well! Here's an example:
From the "Learn More" page on Zuuzs
Now you can have Buying Power!
Buying power on Zuuzs is a reward for doing other things on Zuuzs. You earn buying power by selecting your favorite stores, updating your profile with your favorite catagories, having friends join your circle, when friends make purchases and of course making purchases yourself!
When your Buying Power increases so does your cashback rate!

So if you shop online you should be shopping through Zuuzs here's an example of a current deal from e.l.f. I just took a screen shot of my page on Zuuzs for this deal. You can see that my cashback percent is 4.20% and my cashback with my buying power is 4.76%. So I will earn that just for shopping at e.l.f. today. PLUS, if you look below there is a coupon code offer for all orders over $25 to get 40% off the Studio line! So, I'm going to get a $30 brush kit for $18 AND earn 4.76% of that in cashback!
Are you ready to sign up?
If you sign up on http://zuuzs.com/10Yrm you will be in my circle of friends and you can share all of the great deals you find with me!

This is a sponsored post written by me. I am a member of Zuuzs and these are my 100% honest opinions!

Sponsor Spotlight Review ~ Zipz Shoes {Spring Shoe Runway}

spring shoes

It is a perfect time to showcase your favorite Spring Shoes. Kobiso and Jamie’s Precious Peas are proud to present Spring Shoe Runway Event.

Sponsoring my giveaway for the Spring Shoe Runway event is Zipz Shoes!

About Zipz:
ZIPZ® are removable and interchangeable shoes, like nothing you’ve owned before! Match any ZIPZ® COVERS with any same size ZIPZ® SOULS to create one of-a-kind mix and match shoes. Our shoes are handmade to ensure comfort, quality, and reliability. Invented in California, Designed in the U.S.
Zipz are available in adult youth and toddler sizes (toddler 8-11 it would be kinda difficult to get a zipper on anything smaller). Toddler sized covers come in 2 different styles, the 2 strap and the T-strap. The adult and youth sized covers are available in hi-top, lo-top and zip-on (slip-on). There are many colors and prints to choose from as well! Here's a photo of each style:

My experience:

I received a pair of Zipz by winning a giveaway on the Zipz Facebook page! I was contacted by the owner John Stefani to claim my prize so I took the opportunity to ask him to sponsor this giveaway! I chose the Zip-On style because I have been wanting some new slip on shoes. Since having Charlotte my shoes don't fit as well anymore. At least that's the excuse I use to get new shoes and maybe clothes! Let's start my experience with the shipping. My Zipz were shipped in a fabulous Zipz shoe box inside another shipping box. Care was definitely taken to insure that my awesome new kicks arrived in excellent condition. (Mom's can say "Kicks" right? I just picture Amber rolling her eyes)
The selection of styles is very hip and could really be for any age! Don't worry if you don't think your hip enough, they have solid colors too. But I assure you, you are hip enough to wear these! They are double padded and are comfortable enough for me to wear to my cashier job. I would have to say that they were a little on the larger side. I love this because children can still grow into them and I worry about buying shoes online just in case they are too small. No worries here! I also love the construction of Zipz. The "souls" are very durable. Amber wears shoes out like she is Fred Flinstone driving. She has been wearing OUR Zipz for a few weeks and they still look new (a little dirty but not worn out)
OK, We have discussed comfort, style & durability. Let's talk VERSATILITY! Women change their minds. Frequently. I changed my hair color so many times in high school that for a while I didn't know what my natural color was. Zipz allow you to change your shoes easily, anytime, without buying a whole new pair! In the video below I will show you how awesome this feature is! Here is a list of benefits I have found with wearing Zipz:
  • Storage- having 1 or 2 "souls" and several covers for them significantly cuts down on closet clutter. A serious space saver!
  • Money savings- You could buy a pair of Zipz and an extra cover for half the price of a single pair of shoes! You can get a great deal right now with their TV special: $49.95 for a complete pair PLUS an extra cover! That's basically 2 pairs for $50!!! There's a link at the end of the review!
  • Easy to wash- You can literally zip off the tops and toss them into the washer and dryer! I don't like doing this normally because the heat melts the glue in the sole and my shoe is ruined. Being able to wash only the top is genius!
  • Variety: You could go from a hip print at school to a classic look for work by simply taking along a pair of solid colored tops in your purse or backpack and changing in the car!

Check out Zipz on Facebook and Twitter! Remember, I won this pair on their Facebook page!
You can get that amazing $49.95 deal RIGHT HERE!
That deal is for solid colors but you can find all of the rockin prints at http://zipzshoes.com/

Sponsor Spotlight Review ~ Ugglebo Clogs {Spring Shoe Runway}

spring shoes

It is a perfect time to showcase your favorite Spring Shoes. Kobiso and Jamie’s Precious Peas are proud to present Spring Shoe Runway Event.

Sponsoring my giveaway for the Spring Shoe Runway event is Ugglebo Clogs!

About Ugglebo:
Ugglebo means "owl's nest" in Swedish. Ugglebo was founded in 1965 by Sven Carlsson. Ugglebo was making high fashion wooden clogs as they began to become popular in the 60's and 70's and has kept up with the growing fashion industry while staying true to the traditional clogs! Ugglebo uses the finest leather, wooden bases and metal hardware available. Sven's son Christer became part of the team and to this day is the head clog master in the same factory his father started in 1965!
Please take the time to read more about Ugglebo Clogs and see a few photos of the process!
Ugglebo is also the proud supporter of The Pink Ribbon Riders (PRR), an organisation that provides financial support to both women and men diagnosed with breast cancer! In addition to donating clogs to its members, Ugglbo also donates $20 from each pair of Chukka Shearling Boots sold to PRR.

My experience:
I received a pair of Lisbon clogs in black ($169) to review for this amazing giveaway! These clogs are traditional Swedish clogs, they are handmade in Sweden! They clogs are gorgeous! The workmanship on them is incredible! They are literally wood base with leather top and metal hardware! Nothing synthetic at all.
One important thing to look for when choosing footwear is comfort. While these clogs are super cute, you do have to remember they are CLOGS! The natural wooden base is not the same as the rubber soled shoes we are used to. What does that mean? It takes some getting used to. I usually can break in a pair of shoes fairly quickly. A wooden soled shoe doesn't really "break in". Yes the leather top flexes and stretches a bit, but for the most part you are wearing brand new shoes months later. If you wear heels often these clogs should be no problem getting comfortable in. For me, these beautiful clogs are for special occasions, I will not be wearing them to my cashier job at the hardware store, lol.
When I was sending in my size, I was asked to double check the size because clogs can be "iffy". I triple check the size chart and went with a 38 which is the US equivalent to a 7.5-8. I usually wear an 8 and have only gone bigger than that when pregnant. Apparently my feet didn't go back down all the way after having Charlotte like they did after having Amber. They were a little snug. I would recommend going a size up. Especially if you are on the higher end of the US size for the European size.

Check out Ugglebo on FacebookTwitter & Tumblr!

WIN A PAIR!!!
One lucky winner with choose a pair from the Urban collection ($159-$179)!

Kidorable Rain Boots Review & Umbrella Giveaway Ends 3/9

Kidorable Raincoats

Charlotte and I have had the pleasure of sharing with you her sweet little Kidorable Rain Boots!

The style I have chosen is from the Lotus theme. There are so many other cute themes for Kidorable products including:
Lucky Cat
Fireman
Pirate
Ladybug
Butterflies
Dinosaur
Ballerina
Fairy
Dragon Knight
Mermaid
The boots Charlotte received were these Lotus style boots:

Our Experience:

These boots are super cute! I love that they match but are not matchy-matchy. If that makes any sense... They are both the same color schemes and have the same style flowers, but the colors are positioned in such a cute opposite fashion! This kinda takes me back to my "Punky Brewster" days. I love that the flowers are dimensional and POP from the boot! The little bee on the side is also raised for even more cuteness and texture. The icing on the cake is the zig zag tops!
The craftmanship is very high quality! Every seam is sealed to provide an excellent watertight barrier. The thickness of the "fabric" provides supreme durability, and the sole has a very nice tread to prevent slipping!

I would love to have the whole lotus set which includes:
The Lotus Raincoat
The Lotus Umbrella
The Lotus Towel
You can click on any of the pictures in this post to be taken to the Kidorable website! Until February 29th you can get $2 off any Ladybug style item from kidorable
Check out Kidorable on Facebook and Twitter for special deal announcements!
Win a Kidorable Umbrella:
Kidorable is going to give away any style umbrella to one lucky What Mommy Wants reader! Use the rafflecopter form below to enter! There are no mandatory entries, enter whichever ways you would like. The more you enter the better odds you will have!
Good Luck!

I received a sample from Kidorable in exchange for this review. I have been compensated in no other way. All opinions are 100% mine and I am in no way obligated to give a positive review.
