Manic Mommy Monday ~ Is Tardiness Hereditary?

Manic Mommy Monday!

It is almost noon and I am posting a Manic Mommy Monday post. Why? Because I am late to everything!

Let's start at the beginning. I was born 2 weeks after I was due. Could that mean something? I have always had issues with being on time. When I was in 5th grade my teacher got me a Christmas gift. It wasn't a joke either! It was... an alarm clock! At the time we were quite low on funds, I did not grow up with many things and was often on the gift list in several charity groups like Operation Santa Claus so the gift was very much appreciated.
Why do I think it is hereditary? My dad makes this joke a lot "Your mom will be late to her own funeral". He and my mom have not been a couple since I was 15 and he still will say it now and then. He has good reason, she is always late too.
Most mornings Amber is telling me "Let's go Mom". That makes me feel like crap! I don't want to be the reason she is always late, and I certainly don't her to start being late everywhere. So far she seems to have a handle on it and is embarrassed when she is late because if me. Even writing this right now I feel terrible! I can just hear her telling her friends "Well, you know my mom... late to everything".
I want to be more dependable in that respect. I feel like they can only depend on me to be late! You know it's bad when your husband tells you to be somewhere 30 minutes early because he knows that is the only way you will be on time.
I have tried changing the clocks and that doesn't work if you know they are ahead, and you can't change the time on your cell phone! I just need to try harder!
Thank you for reading my rant! Feel free to share any tips... please? lol

Manic Mommy Monday is a weekly blog hop! Please hop around the linky below and feel free to add to it. If you add yourself to the linky please post the linky in your Manic Mommy Monday post!

  1. I think it's just a ranting kind of Monday! I did the same... I totally know what you are going through! My parents were always late when I was growing up. Then my dad remarried and my stepmom was all about being on time. Somewhere along the way I developed anxiety if I was late to things. I would show up super early for work, school, whatever! My husband is always late... I started having panic attacks when we would be running late for things. Now I work for my dad and he tends to run late for jobs, especially when it's busy! I still get anxious when I'm dealing with lateness, whether my own or my dad's but I've learned that sometimes we just run behind... Take a deep breath and do your best and what happens will happen! Good luck!!!

  2. I'm apparently too dumb to figure out that "Name" was not supposed to be MYYY name (Jaime), but the blog post name for today, which is The Win/Lose Day, otherwise known as "Literally... a bag of crap". I'm blaming this all on my 6 month old teething baby who is wanting to suckle. All. Night. LONG.

  3. By the way, I do believe it is somewhat hereditary. My mom was AWFUL.. but I blame it on my anxiety and tendency to procrastinate on things. She also had pretty bad anxiety. The only thing that keeps me going to things on time is remembering how embarrassing it was for me to experience my mom's untimeliness!

  4. My boyfriend is late for everything! It's been very hard on me. I am never late for anything, but since I met him, we are always late. For some people, it's just a part of who they are. I have realized I can't change him, now I just assume we will be late when he is involved and I find it less irritating to me.

Good luck with finding a solution that works for you!

  5. My mom is always early and it used to drive me nuts. Except now I'm always early :\

I love hearing what you have to say! Please share your thoughts with me here:
