Mother's Day Cloth Diaper Giveaway Sponsor Spotlight~ Diaper Daisy

The prize package on What Mommy Wants for this event is going to go to one winner and is valued at over $100!
This post will highlight one of our many generous sponsors!
About Diaper Daisy:
Based in Nebraska, Diaper Daisy is an online boutique that is owned and operated by a mom named Jess. Jess has been working with diapers for about four years and wanted to assist and encourage moms every step of the way on their journey through cloth diapering!

Jess hopes that more moms and caregivers will learn about cloth diapering and spread the word of how easy and FUN it can be!

Why do I need Dryer Balls?
Dryer balls are used in place of fabric softener! Why do you want to replace fabric softener? Liquid fabric softener contains harsh chemicals that can break down the fibers in your clothes. Dryer sheets also contain chemicals, dyes (even the white ones) and perfumes. If you use cloth diapers they also leave residue on your cloth diapers, rendering them less absorbent and irritating to baby's sensitive skin.
Money Savings! Dryer balls last for up to 5 years! That means you don't have to buy a new box/bottle every month. Another money saving aspect is the drying time. Dryer balls increase the airflow by creating pockets of air and fluffing the fabrics by bouncing against them in the dryer! Wool in particular also absorbs some of the moisture. That means you are using less power too. That translates to less on your bill (not to mention the eco-friendly part of less energy).

About Baby Bear Dryer Balls from Diaper Daisy:
  • Use 4 to 6 to optimize your dry time.
  • Using these will also decrease, but not eliminate your static cling and will fluff up your clothes without using a dryer sheet.
  • Made in the USA
  • 100% Wool
  • Approximately 10 inches in circumference
  • May stick to aplix and velcro diapers

The tests by Baby Bear Dryer Balls (the manufacturer) show with 4 to 6 dryer balls, there is a 20-40% decrease in dry time.
*Please note everyone's dryer is different and you may have more or less of a decrease in drying time.
All you have to do is place dryer balls into your dryer and let them to all the work.
My Experience:
I have several dryer balls from different companies. with 5 balls in my dryer I no longer leave a full load of clothes in the dryer for an hour or more. About 45 minutes is all it takes unless it's a large load or there are more than a couple pair of jeans in it. I actually freak out when a ball goes missing. Sometimes someone else will empty the dryer and a ball will be in stuck in a pant leg or even a pocket. My laundry is still soft. The only thing missing is the strong scent that you get from fabric softener. To me strong scents mean chemicals so I am OK with that! If I want my clothes to have a smell I just give a little spray of Baby Mist from Hugo Naturals.
