Review: Taslie Skin Care's Natural Cheeky Bum Wash, Cloth Diaper safe

About Taslie:
Taslie Skin Care Ltd. was created by Tami Main. She, inspired by her daughter Nila, noticed a need for chemical free products and products that use sustainable packaging. Located in Vancouver Canada, Tami started developing products using PET recyclable plastics. These biodegradable plastics will completely biodegrade in a landfill (a rich active micobial environment) within 1-5 years. Mush faster than any other plastic that takes up to centuries to biodegrade!

Inside the biodegradable packaging you will find that all of their products are formulated to cleanse and moisturize using natural and organic ingredients. Taslie products never contain:
  • Sodium Laureth Sulfates
  • Lanolin
  • Parabens
  • Synthetic colors
  • Synthetic fragrances
  • Phthalates
  • Is NOT tested on animals
They are made in Canada. The turtle bottles are hand painted using lead free paint.

Natural Cheeky Bum Wash:
I was very privileged to receive a bottle of "Harper Hippo" Natural Cheeky Bum Wash! It is only available in 200mL (6.7 fl oz). The natural ingredient are:

  • Water
  • Aloe Vera
  • Centilla Asiatica (Gotu Kola)
  • Witch Hazel
  • Organic Herbal Blend Marigold and Chamomile Flowers Extract,
  • Natural Vegetable Surfactant from Corn, Wheat, Coconut Oil
  • Mandarin Orange Peel Oil
  • Grapefruit Peel Oil
  • Hydroxymethylglycinate (Plant Derived Preservative)

These all natural ingredients combine to calm and soothe babies sensitive bottom even when there is skin irritation. The grapefruit and mandarin essential oils make is smell great!
Our experience:

We have almost finished the bottle! This spray is fabulous! The first thing I noticed is the amazing smell. I was almost tempted to taste it. the best word to describe the smell is "juicy"!
Just a few squirts from Harper the Hippo was all we needed. For a simple wet diaper I would spray a bit on Charlotte's bottom and wipe it off with a dry cloth wipe! It wiped off easily and she giggled every time she got a "squirt"! She likes it as much as I do! For soiled diapers I spray down the cloth wipe before removing her diaper. This method uses more of the bum wash, but works great! I also follow up with the same steps as I do on simple wet diapers just to give a soothing coat to her bottom an make sure we got everything.
Charlotte liked the bottle and started calling Harper "puppy" after a few times of telling  her it was a hippo, she now calls her "hippoo".
I don't only use this on Charlotte's bottom... I took it with me to the Great Cloth Diaper Change in our diaper bag. We decided to give Charlotte a cookie which got all over her face! I sprayed a couple times on a cloth wipe and it worked great at getting the mushy cookie bits off of her chin and mouth! I felt very comfortable knowing that only natural ingredients were going near her mouth!
There is only one thing I would consider changing. The shape of the bottle made it difficult to spray with one hand. I always try to have one hand on Charlotte at all times when changing her. Several times I either put the bottle on the table and propped up the wipe so I could get adequate pressure on the sprayer OR hold the bottle with one hand and spray with the other. The sprayer wasn't difficult at all. The problem was that when I pressed it down the bottle slid down in my hand because I couldn't get a good grip. Perhaps the same shape maybe in a smaller size or thinner and taller would work for my smaller sized hands.
Overall I love this Bum Wash! I definitely recommend Taslie to any mom who is trying to be green!
